Stir Fried French Beans and Pork

French beans or Baguio beans as what we call it in Philippines.  Baguio is a place in Philippines where good vegetables and fruits such as strawberries grow thanks to its cool climate, most of Luzons vegetable come from this City, it is also knows as the summer capital of the Philippines as people love visiting this place during the summer season to escape the hot and humid weather in Manila.

I spent my 2 years of University life here and it was a good, food is fresh and cheap, climate is the best you can get in the Philippines and the quality of life was great.  I remember every weekend I always drive my mom to the market (Dangwa was the name if I remember), and you always see truckloads of fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers.

Now this dish is somehow popular in the Philippines mainly because its one of the quick and easy dishes to cook which will only take 15 minutes of your time, the ingredients are also simple, easy and cheap to buy which is a must for people living with really tight budgets.

Ingredients

300g French beans, sliced into 1 inch pieces
300g Pork belly, sliced into 1/2 inch cubes
1 medium sized red onion, chopped
4 cloves galic, minced
5 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp red sugar
freshly ground black pepper
oil

Method

1. In a wok add oil and saute garlic and onion in high heat.
2. Add pork and stir fry until cooked and brown in color.
3. Add french beans and stir fry for additional 1 minute.
4. Add soy sauce, brown sugar mix for 1 more minute and season with freshly ground black pepper.
