Spicy Chorizo and Chilli Pizza

Spicy Chorizo and Chilli Pizza

There are a lot of pizza flavours to choose, from the simple Margherita to Super Supreme but there are few versions that are suited for the ones who love hot and spicy food like me, I don’t even recall if there was a popular hot pizza flavour. Having that in mind why not make my own flavour? It was a good timing anyways as we had bought heaps of chorizo last week and some fresh chillies, so for this post we will be making a Spanish inspired pizza with flavours coming from chillies, smoked paprika, cayenne, chorizo, garlic and queso de bola.

Ingredients (Pizza Sauce)

1/2 – 2/3 cup passata
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
8 pcs basil leaves, chopped
1/2 tsp dried oregano
salt
freshly ground black pepper

Ingredients (Toppings)

sliced chorizo
long red chillies, sliced
mozzarella
queso de bola (type of edam cheese), grated
parmesan

Ingredients (Others)

olive oil

Ingredients (Dough)

I used the dough from my Margherita Pizza so please refer here

Method

1. In a bowl mix together all Pizza Sauce ingredients.
2. Prepare the dough but make it thicker as this is a hot and spicy pizza. Spread 1-2 tbsp of olive oil on top.
3. Spread the pizza sauce, top with quezo de bola, parmesan, mozzarella, chorizo and chillies. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
4. Place in a preheated oven at 230C and cook for 20 to 25 minutes.

  1. Did someone say spicy? That’s my name!

This pizza looks amazingly delicious. I have a friend loveeeeeeeeeesssssssss chorizo more than life itself (it would seem) – when I go back to my island, I may have to make this for her for her birthday. She would love it and love me even more.

  2. That pizza look great! But I wouldn’t use the topping ingredients you have mentioned. The chorizo is Spanish, not Italian :)
