Valentines Day Cookies

I am not writing a lot today because I have a date with my lovely wife in an hour. But I will leave you with a recipe of a cookie she made for Valentines.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I hope you enjoy the day with your loved ones.  Now what are you waiting for close this browser, get dressed and just read the recipe tomorrow.

Ingredients

200g butter, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup sifted flour

Ingredients (Frosting)

200g butter, room temperature
3/4 cup icing sugar
red food colour
candy sprinkles

Method

1. Mix all cookie ingredients together.
2. Place dough in a baking pan then flatten it by hand.
3. Place in freezer for 20 minutes or if you have extra time place it in the fridge for 1 hour.
4. Remove baking pan from the fridge then using a heart shape cookie cutter, cut them into individual shapes.
5. Bake in a 180C preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Once cooked remove from oven and keep it cool.
6. Place butter in a mixing bowl then using a hand mixer mix until butter is creamy, add icing sugar 1 tablespoon at a time together with drops of red food colour.
7. Spread butter icing on top of cookies then sprinkle heart shaped candy sprinkles on top.
8. Enjoy it with your loved one.
